MoT Fundraiser : Thanks y’all!

Hallo all!

Happy Saturday! Hope you’re all feeling better than I am! I came down with some freak cold after Thursday night’s fundraiser and have spent much of the past two days in bed texting and watching movies. …So actually I guess it has not been that bad. (For the record, Scott Pilgrim is amazing.)

And about Thursday’s fundraiser, let me tell you, it was awesome! It was an amazingly humbling feeling to see so many of my friends, classmates and colleagues come out to support us and the show and I can’t thank you guys enough.

An especially huge thanks to :

- Kristy Benckhuysen, Samantha Jewell, Ellie Irwin and Michael Van Straaten for volunteering at the event from errand running, door watching to raffle ticket selling. You guys were on top of it when things went awry, and I can’t thank you enough.

- Wade Fennig for helping us book the event at Ceili’s and of course, everyone at Ceili’s for being so helpful!

- Bob&Andrew for hosting, Michael Chase and Whiskey Jane for performing! What an amazing and entertaining night! You guys rock!

MC rehearsing for KB, Wade and I before the show.

You guys made the night effortless for me, and entertaining for everyone! I’m so incredibly grateful to have such a wonderful circle of friends and that we all come out to support each other at our various events. (And also thanks to Ryan Jackson who cut the trailer that I forgot to screen. Oopsie!) (PS. Go check out the trailer today!)

We raised the money we needed for the insurance for the next episode of MoT, to be filmed on Vancouver Island! Stay tuned for more updates on that from myself and my love KB, the producer for that episode of MoT.

So before the fundraiser, I spent a day with KB shopping for the infamous yellow bridesmaid dress I have to purchase for the summer, and had the pleasure of stumbling upon the beauty that is the flower pots of Vancouver.

Tulips AND Pansies?! Two of my favorites. I love you downtown Vancouver.

After the shopping trips I made my way home and ran into Ray, one of the homeless men who hangs out near Woodwards quite frequently.  He’s a painter and always has a shopping cart full of goods, and this time I stumbled upon this painting :

I purchased it for $10, and donated it to the MoT raffle. Wouldn’t you know it, it was the most popular prize, and my girl Sam Green won it! She’s putting it up in her and Bob’s office which makes me so very happy. I’ll be sure to let him know when I see him next!

Well that’s it for this post, stay tuned for tomorrow’s return of my Sunday Lesson of the Week! (About my mommy ♥.)

Peace&Love.

P.♥
