Reroutes and Reruns.

I spent 30 seconds searching how to say hello in a different language and then have spent the last hour and a half on Facebook.  Damnit. it’s now been two and a half hours. damnit. b

Anyways.  I had a pretty good day today — not a whole lot of work to do but we had a pizza party, I got to meet a few new people (or at least have my boss point me out to them from across the room…) and then my dad took me out for Chinese food :) .  I rarely get to see him, so I was stoked when he offered to take me out for dinner.  It went something like this :

Dad : Hey, still wanna go for dinner?

Me : Yeah! Where do you wanna go? The Keg?

Dad : How about Szechuan? {Which is an all you can eat Chinese buffet}

Me : Yeah sure, but I’m not that hungry.

Dad : Okay well go run around the block a couple times, work up an appetite and then we’ll go.

Me : …

So I guess you can see where I get my sense of humor.

(It’s certainly not from my mom who was talking about the couple at the table across from us and POINTING. Holy crap. Hahaha.)

Ooooh also, this is what I ate for dinner :

Sooooooo good.  Kung Pao chicken, shanghai noodles, chow mein, ginger beef, broccoli, rice, spring rolls and sweet and sour sauce mmmmmm!!! I can’t wait til the day I can have chinese food in China!

So other than that, I did a little bit of — TRIP RESEARCH today and found out some pretty interesting facts about flying from Edmonton to London.

1 – It costs $1043 for me to fly from Edmonton to Heathrow (with a layover in cowtown mind you.)

2 – It costs $801 ($322+$330+$149) for me to fly from Edmonton to Halifax (crash with Sam for a few days, visit LeBail and Josee in Moncton, see the maritimes for the first time ever.), Halifax to Reykjavik, Iceland – where I can then stay for a day or two, or hang out at the airport for 4 hours and then hop on a short flight to Heathrow.

3 – The first flight is 11 hours of travel time, the second is only twelve and a half — and there are so many benefits to it!

So I’m verrrrrry proud to announce at least a very small North American leg to this trip around the world of mine :) .

Mostly I’m excited to see Sam :D . I miss her so much every day and I was worried I wouldn’t get to see her before taking off on this adventure.  I’ll get to meet Jon, her parents, her kitty, and see her backyard!! Plus we’re going to go to Moncton to see Stephen and Josee (who will both travel to see me if I need to make them… lol.) and then we’re going to have breakfast at … CORA’S. Amazing! We’re also going to check out this beautiful place called Peggy’s cove, and I’m really looking forward to that! Can’t wait to see you Sam!!! Only…6-7 months… ♥

Me and my Sam on Kits Beach late at night before I moved away… and then she also moved away…

Anyhow, this little re-route that I get to do will save me $200+ which I will surely spend while I’m in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, but it’s totally worth it.   I’m going to start looking into what other little “back roads” I can take when traveling to save myself some more money along the way.  Any suggestions? Leave me a comment below!

Also today, I was surfing the good old internets and wanted to have a laugh so I decided to check out some David Thorne jokes.  A few months ago when I was having a particularly bad day, Janet introduced me to this marvellously hilarious man.  David is an Australian humorist / internet personality perhaps best known for his “office pranks” or his trying to pay a bill with a picture he drew of a 7 legged spider.  He is hilarious.  Anyhow, he was my rerun for the day.  I sifted through all of the old jokes that I had previously read of his, and just sat at my desk giggling by myself.  I felt completely ridiculous but it was just what I needed to perk up at the end of the day.

Check out his blog here. (My personal favorite is the Ten F26-A Forms with Simon Dempsey. Bahaha.)

Well that’s it for me today, time to get to bed — and hopefully I won’t wake up at 6am again :\.

Nighty night y’all.

Peace&Love.
