Wonderful Day

The finish line is in sight!

Hey hey ya’ll!

Hope you’re enjoying the last day of your work week as much as I did, and getting ready for the weekend!!!!!

Tonight, I’m celebrating Sandra’s 21st (lol) birthday at the Red Room on Richards for Latin Night! I’m also having a girl’s night with Sam tomorrow night! But the real purpose of that are under wraps until later on ;) patience ya’ll! Finally on Sunday, I’m going to volunteer on set of Nadeem’s film, Aapka Kya Hoga, as an extra dancer and whatever else he needs my help on! Check back in for updates in the coming days!

So, now, onto why my day was so awesome.

It all started with yesterday being so great as well.

Seeing that we are in the second or third week of term 6(I’ve lost track), it was time for our class to take the famous EBM black and white photo to adorn the walls of our floor.  Although………it will no longer be our floor anymore. Thus, why I’ve been crying randomly for the last few weeks.

It’s not that I’m not ready to move on with the rest of my life after school, (frankly, being poor sucks) but this last year has been the most up and down, crazy, busy, creative, informative, fantastic, rewarding year of my life, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.  I know I’ve said it a million times before, but I still can’t believe that I’m already at the end of it. I can’t even begin to count the amount of invaluable experiences I’ve had in my time in school and I’m ever so thankful for it.  Anyhow, on with the show!

We had our photo taken by Pardeep Singh, and our photo being taken, taken by my home girl, Sam Green.  Her shots can be found on the EBM Flickr photo stream, as well as shots from Sandra’s Tales of Fairies and Miles Off Track!

As Bob calls it, my power pose.

Looks to me like you have your next cast for the Apprentice, Mr. Trump.

Anyway, I’m not going to harp on too much about this, because I have plenty of time for that in the next 8 weeks when my time at VFS is really over, but suffice to say, I LOVE YOU GUYS. In the last 11 months you have each taught me something new about myself, and I’m so very happy to have gotten the chance to work with you all!

So, last night Mike, Steve and I went to Dairy Queen to purchase an ice cream cake! It was the day after my mom’s birthday, so I decided to celebrate for her here in Van, and chose to be fesby eating the kind of cake she always buys me for my birthday :) Well, that and Mike had been craving a DQ ice cream cake for a few days now. Haha.

Bonne Fete Maman! Je t’aime!! (Mike too)

Now onto today!

This morning, our instructor Kat Montagu organized a field trip for us at Telefilm.  That’s right, Telefilm.  It was pretty freaken awesome.  We met with John Dippong and Bill Hurst and got the chance to pick their brains about the ins and outs of the application process, what they look for in films, and to talk to them about our final projects.  It was such a fantastic opportunity to meet these two, and to get to have a candid discussion with them was just icing on the cake. (Another joy of term 6, classes that introduce us to what’s next…Portfolio Building, Self-Promotion, Career Prep, Networking, Digital Commerce and Final Project Workshop time.) I hope to go back to Telefilm one day with a project for them!

I spent the rest of my afternoon on the EBM floor galavanting about, talking to the 11s and imposing on the staff before heading home to watch SuperMarket Sweep with Mike and start making our first drafts on our super-secret-mystery project.  Always time for writing with Mike. :)

So as we sat there on my couch, a wonderful surprise spread across the sky…

A DOUBLE FREAKEN RAINBOW. Are you serious?! I can’t believe how many times I’ve compared this year to the OMG IT’S A FULL ON DOUBLE RAINBOW video, and to see it on this wonderful day, at the end of this fantastic year, it was just perfect.   I could not have timed it better myself.

And to add to the amazingness of that, Facebook was full of double-rainbow love!

This is why I love Social Media. You can share pretty much anything in a matter of instants, and bond with your friends, your family, your colleagues, or whoever. I could go on and on and on, so I’ll stop here……and remind you to subscribe to my blog, and visit the Miles Off Track Facebook and Twitter pages! Haha!

And last but not least, a shout-out to my wonderful boyfriend Rustan, who went above and beyond with my mom’s flowers for her birthday. (Now I can’t wait to see what’s in store for my birthday!!!)

Well, that’s it for this post! Thanks for readin’ ya’ll! Keeps me going!!
